Counseling

Safety, Hope, & Healing provides counseling for people who have experienced trauma and loss.

Therapeutic Orientation/Modalities

Every potentially traumatic experience and every loss are different, as are many things about how each individual experiences and makes meaning of these events.  And yet, as De Bellis (2011) put it, "While there are an infinite number of stressors that can cause a subjective sense of overwhelming stress and distress..., there are finite ways that the brain and the body can respond."

Healing is about creating a coherent understanding and narrative of the impact of the experiences and learning and choosing ways of managing those memories and impacts.

I use a broad range of evidence based and informed therapeutic modalities, including:

  • EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

  • ARC - Attachment, Regulation, & Competency

  • DBT - Dialectical Behavior Therapy

  • TF-CBT - Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • CAMS - Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality

  • Suicide Bereavement
